    6000 watts into 2 ohms.

I like the specs and how it looks on the inside. However, is it just me or is it ugly looking from the outside? In my opinion, WOPLs look nicer. At $200,000 they could of at least given us holographic “heads up” meter display.

    Unexpected change in bias measurements

I just finished a rebuild of a series II 400 and I ran into an unexpected change, in the bias measurement. I was going from the original FPL909s to MJ21196 while using stock drivers. Prior to changing the outputs, I adjusted the bias to .350MV and bench tested the amp for an hour. No problems...

    700 Series II Meters

In the two instances that I've had issues with the series II meters, both were fixed by replacing a bad cap. I fixed one that had issues like yours and I believe it was C311 which is a 4.7uf 35v axial cap.

    700 Series II Meters

Perry, I just fixed a 400 series II with the exact same problem. It turned out to be the 1uf 50v cap on the right display board. I replaced it with a 1uf 100v cap.

    Thanks Perry

Thank you Perry for the outstanding workmanship and attention to detail, on the Clair amp, that you built for me. I've been using it for over a month and it's performance, has been flawless. In addition, the reworked extra set of knobs you sent me, look like they had just been made. It's a true...

    Anyone ever run Magneplanar Speakers?

I believe those amps are Audio Research Reference 600. I think they cost about $70K a pair and as the model number states, 600 watts a piece. I currently use Magnaplaner SMGs and the newer model 1.7. They both sound very impressive. I also have Martin Logan, Quad and Infinity electrostats...

    FS Epicure 20+ speakers

I own a pair and they are excellent sounding speakers and also, pretty efficient. I'm running mine using a 12 watt tube amp. You can crank them up to an amazing volume, with not much power.

700 Series II face plate holes

So does it seem correct that a 700b style handle will fit the 700b, Clair and series I, 400 amps?

The Amp Shack is back open FINALLY!!!!

Good to hear that you made it their safe and sound. That sign is too funny. We have a resale shop down the street from us that's also called the "Dirty Hoe". At least if your wife makes you sleep out in the doghouse, you have a very nice place to go!

    700B and speaker impedance

Welcome to the Phoenix audio forum. I would second what Elite-ist said along with my opinion. I would at the very least, install Watts Abundant dc board. I think it's a more reliable way then fuses, to protect those speakers. I would also run a cooling fan as it certainly won't hurt anything...

    White Oaks replacement 700 chassis

Thanks for the link, somehow I missed that one. So it's anodized aluminum and welded instead of stamped out. Nice! Also, from what I read, slightly larger so maybe a little more working room?
