    What's this?

Thats been up on eBay for at least a month. The asking price is slooooowly dropping however, I think it still has a fairly long way to go.

What's the thoughts on the 200 (series II) upgrade kits on eBay?

We'll I'm not familiar with the kit you purchased however, if it contained most of the capacitors and other parts you mentioned, it should be better then the tired parts in your amp. If it sounds good to you and it's reliable, that's all that matters.

Very nice, thanks for sharing the links. I really like the Jazz cafe "Cortez" setup. I wish there were more places that utilized even a decent, sound system.

My wife also has a Viking. It's pretty cool to watch it work.

    She's a keeper

Well my wife just bought a computer controlled embroidery machine and here's some of her first test projects. The Phase was just a test of the font style on scrap material. I think the font style is good but the size needs to be larger. She also did a test of the Phase logo using alternating red...

    That's hilarious!

    Your opinions please.

All so true. I have two early 400s and they are somewhat different. Both are 4 fin but only one has the main caps, mounted on the side of the frame. The other has them mounted to the aluminum spacer. One has Dixon meters and the other, Honeywell. Even the faceplate mounting screws are slightly...

That was my understanding. Thanks for the confirmation.

    Your opinions please.

Thank you for your thoughts. I was under the impression that an early 400 can still be fully WOPL'd. I guess I will need to research that some more.

    Your opinions please.

First some background. I recently purchase two more PL400s that will be getting some White Oaks upgrades. One is an early build that I bought from the original owner. The other is a series 2. Both are in excellent condition. I'm building these to give to our sons so I do want them to be very...

    WTB PL 700

Hi Joe, Thanks for the additional information. I'm fine with it being either a 700B or series 2. However, I need to have one or the other in hand, before I can try to buy a new faceplate. Once I purchase those items needed, I'll contact you, to purchase everything else. Thanks again, Gary

    WTB PL 700

Thanks Joe, I like your idea. I wasn't sure if face plates were still available and the W/O chassis sounds awesome. I guess I would still need a donor unit or at least all the other parts in a basket. :toothy5: Gary

    WTB PL 700

I'm looking to purchase a PL700B or possibly a 700 series ii. This amp will get the full White Oaks upgrade so it doesn't need to be in working condition. What's most important is that it's in cosmetic condition worthy of the expense involved to WOPL it. It does need to have a good transformer...

    WOPL 400 Build Problem!

I had the same (or at least similar) problem on my WOPL 400 that I built a few years ago. It has the Rev. C board, cap kit, etc. It sounded fantastic until I started to crank it up. At that point, the left channel would sound like it was clipping on the bass notes. I swapped the speaker leads...

    New martin Logans

I had not read that article for some time so thanks for sharing the link and the other fascinating information. Seems like we might have a lot in common. I still have my McIntosh 2205, MR 77 and I sold my C- 28 and bought a C-33. Bought it all new "back in the day". Speaking of having...

    New martin Logans

You are very welcome. I agree, unfortunately the pics just didn't do them any justice. It was the first time I used the camera feature and I must be doing something wrong. There are some much nicer pics of them on Audiokarma under " show us your Infinity speakers" if you care to check them out...
