If you can't get it to boot from the DVD drive, and I've been trying, the disk is kind of useless, don't know how I managed the first time but for blind luck.
If I have no active partitions, how does Windows even work?
Well you have to trouble shoot it with these methods:
1: Make sure data and power cables are properly attached.
2: Try different Win 7 disc.
3: if different disc bring same results try different DVD drive.
Explain what happens when you load the win 7 disc and reboot your computer? Does the computer boot from the disc? Does it start set up? if so where is the hang up?
3 1/2 hours of updating and not just finishing the 142 I chose to install first, including SP1. This is the one painful waiting part of loading... but Alison is returning.
I have a Dell Latitude D620 laptop I am using now since I can't use my regular desktop. It is running Vista Business and seems to get around ok but I would not mind going to Windows 10 for it. It has a fast enough processor 1.83GHz and a 60gig hard drive but I can't find a free download for it. Any advice?
Edit: When I go to the MS website, I see this...
Note: This free Windows 10 upgrade is available for PCs and tablets
