got the dh160 equalizer in...well packed....opened it up...tightened transformer...was clean...got it installed...put on a wopl/voigt combo...replaced dsp...overkill...still have dsp on 4 ways...
equalizer works perfectly....voigts are overpowering as speaker sensitivity is 96db....mids and voice hit hard...just tones it down a bit...as per advice of driver vendor....waiting on new chromecast ultras and hafler ps cap upgrade and recap...
getting there!!!
equalizer has date embedded in the boards...seems thi is a january 1982 model...full of chips....

would love to...i think vinyl sounds unique...not too impressed with tape...had cassettes but only copied vinyl to tape...played tape till it broke or wore out...still had new lp to make another tape...

ahhh...yes...1982 model...great condition and good price...the driver in the voigt is full range...didnt need all the goodies in dsp...just tamp dow mids a bit...this is perfect!!!
getting there bit by bit...learning along the way...

you have no clue how bad i wanted one...by 1976 i had a wife and two kids...had to curb my wants in favor of our needs ..

this afternoon...the hafler recap kit and ps cap upgrade arrived for one unit....got it disassembled...and a bit done on left channel...
doesnt look too bad...we shall see...the haflers are a board per channel...more substaintial than the 400s...but at least a decade newer...plenty of time for newer technology...these boards done appear to be worked on...kinda fun learning new stuff...

got both channels rebuilt ...left channel rewired and installed... installed bigger ps caps...got inrush limiter installed...will double check and rewire and install right channel...these are a bit more involved than the 400s...but still fun...next week i will order for other amp...

had a bad solder joint on one of the b- wires...
thus the triple check...
back on line...
what a difference in bass with the big caps ..
i took note of mr. joe....
damn...sounds great...
next week i will order the kit for the other amp...

found another dh160 hafler equalizer...i will have analog eqs on both sets of full range speakers...ine for voigts and other for bedroom bass reflexes....
i want another dac ... considering topping...
want to try something different from smsl...
can experiment!!!

Look at the Topping E70. Seems to be a DAC of choice.

Some of the guys are using them in place of on board chips in measuring equipment I think, at least that seems what's going on. I need to do more reading and learn more. Pricey aren't they?

I've had the D50s for the past couple years. Extremely impressed with it - over the D10 that I've had for much longer. Both are solid DACs, but the D50s is notches above the D10
