Am I an official collector yet?

I've been cataloging on discogs, I have a few unique releases that aren't in their database (and it's a rip in the sphincter to follow their new release rules...). I've heard it said that you're really not a "serious" collector until you have 1,000 releases in your collection. I just hit 1016.

Waiting for prescriptions to be filled, I wandered around the local Warmalt. Found a surprise! Not many there, but there were a few on my want list.

    Mike's PL400 rebuild (or, Mark's WOPL III!)

My first "outside job" came up- an AB-so-LOOT-ly PERFECT late-model PL400. Original owner, purchased in 1975. Looks like it came out of the factory yesterday! When the time comes to take her apart I'm gonna feel like I'm spray-painting Mona Lisa's face!

    T-Shirts...

Well, after we scared a newbie off by mercilessly hijacking his first thread, the gears of my gray matter still turned. Fiddled with Inkscape and traced pretty accurately the "Phase Linear" script that was in a font that's lost to the sands of time. Here's my mockup. "THE POWERFUL DIFFERENCE"...

Mark goes at it again... just bought a PL700/II!

Hey, guys... too long away from my friends, please forgive me. Life has settled down a bit, don't even remember the last time I logged into Phoenix... Well, anyway, just bought a PL700/II on eBay for $750. Probably paid too much, don't know, don't really care, but you just don't see these...

Just dropping in, coming back to see everyone...

I've not logged in for about a year- maybe more. Got a PM from fishoz poking me because I haven't posted/contributed for a while. Lots of shit happened during the year, my sister fell and broke her hip, so it had to be replaced. My nephew lost his leg below the knee (diabetic complications)...

    A slight geek issue...

For some reason the space bar doesn't make a space when I type into this forum lately. I have to type my line, mouse click on the intended word breaks, and add my spaces later. Anyone else getting this (feature)? Macintosh Sierra (10.12.1) Google Chrome (54.0.2840.71 [64-bit])

    Aw poop! PL400 fried!

Replaced PS fuses today, went to do a DBT startup but pushed the switch the wrong way, so it went into a full current startup. The odor of ozone and burned components came afterward... So... Where do I go from here?

    Cheapie homemade dust cover

My first attempt at acrylic sheet fabrication. I made a dust cover for an old record changer. The glued edges came out a little boogery, but for a project done with whatever I had on hand (apart from buying glue and plastic sheets) I think it came out rather well: <iframe width="560"...

    Crosley meets Pro-Ject?

Is Crosley finally attempting to make a worthwhile turntable? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Crosley-2-Speed-Manual-Turntable-with-Pro-Ject-Tone-Arm-Natural-/282041900771?&_trksid=p2056016.l4276 Still a Crosley, though- I wouldn't touch it with someone else's hands...

    PL3000 resurrection project

I bought a PL3000 preamp at the same time as my PL400 amp thinking I got a sweet deal on a whole functioning combo. The preamp was listed on the bay as "functioning", but it turns out that it's FUCKtioning instead. The selection latch and flip/flop ICs are (I suspect) faulty. So- got my list...
