Got it in 1 D2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mo pics...
Actually Glen, I could have stayed with the stock #16 as this is a 240volt model. The new chassis has a wee bit more room in it and I was finding out how large we could get with the wire. Some customers want bigger wire...

After some testing, maxed out into 4 ohms with a #16 mains cord voltage drop went from 121.3 to 118.7....
Thank you for the info Lee on the BR

Did you use smaller supply line to the 240 transformer input? the amperage should be cut in half for the higher voltage. Did the 240 transformer put out a higher rail voltage in the end?

I will have to see if any of mine are dual voltage.

Bumble bees???? I use them in my guitars between the tone pots. .015uf for the neck pickup and .022uF for the bridge pickup. 400V 10%
definitely not. We want parts that work and are reliable. Those bumblebees are horrible capacitors. I haven't found one yet that wasn't leaky and most are also off value by a fair margin. Ceramic caps or film caps would be fine across the bridge.

The 240 mains in transformer had rail voltage of 106. Well within the range of what we've seen in the 120 primary models. Of course that was on Przems 700. The transformer for this one is still in Australia. The one thing I did notice about the 240 primary mosel, there seemed to be less voltage sag...

The surge current increases with larger capacity capacitors and replacing the BR with a new one rated at 25 or 35 amps (@400 V or so) is commonly done. I think Lee is now using some 50 amp bridge rectifiers for the 700. Those aren't resistors - they're capacitors. If you replace the BR it is a good to add snubber caps across the four diodes. I believe that an optimal value for this is 0.022 uF and you'll want a rating of about 400 V or so. The value is not critical but you need to make sure the voltage rating is several hundred volts.

Thanks Dennis
I found these new old stock Nichicon caps QXF2J223KRPT 630 volt .022 mdf Polypropylene
100 lot for $35 . Do these thing go bad over time ? is this a good deal or should I go new? Anyone got best choice part # for this job?

Maybe if I buy another 3 pairs of JBLS and wire them up in series I could test the voltage sag for you with a multimeter? :evil4:

Good morning Lee. I have to work today. Sunday is $50 an hour, but only worked 24 hours this week and the other two were 1 day and 1 night.
