Derek92994's 700 Ser II White Oak conversion

Residual noise is the total noise of the amp, from input through output with no signal and the inputs shorted. Usually expressed in millivolts, but we are now having to use MICROvolts to express it....

If millivolts is MV abbreviated what is microvolts abbreviated as?

Is this the right plug D2??

OK, D2, see the blue and white wire? That's where your transformer primaries go. The empty space between them is where the center taps are joined at. Your primary consists of 2 120 windings. I believe the blue/yellow and brown wires from the transformer go to these two wires. The 2 center taps are going to be blu and brown/yellow. they go in between the two. In essence we are seriesing the two 120 windings....

Makes sense but I will be taking pictures of my soldering work before plugging it in!

Gotta be out the door for work in 45 minutes max.

OK D2, be good, work hard...i'll be workin too..

Cheers Lee. For $50 a hour I'll clean milk and cream scum/old grease from underneath conveyor belt runners inside a big industrial cold room (like I did last time) and believe me there is some nasty shit underneath those things!

Any food processing plant will have those THINGS....

Cap end starting to neaten up...

Done at the caps, headed east.... D2, the #20 blue and white wires on the right are for the ?volt windings for the light board..they come off the secondary...The difference between this winding and the one for a B is goinna be something we adjust for. The LED displays required more voltage thanm the old 6 volt lights in the B.

D2, we're gonna have to have you power that transformer up so we can see what the low voltage secondary winding is....

Joe, have you ever measured the display voltage on a Ser II?
