I've worked on a couple 850's and a 1050, and they cool runners ...
Unfortunately, I don't believe the SX-1250 is compatible with a low output MC cartridge. You would have to use a step-up transformer to use a low output MC cart with the SX-1250. If it's a high output moving coil cartridge with 2.5 mV you would be OK.
Probably a no go for hooking up a powered sub woofer to your SX-1250.

Yes sir. Those receivers are not supposed to run hot. Especially not loaded up. Makes me wonder about the bias setting
The 626 gets pretty warm just sitting there idling, not abnormally but when I walk into the garage, I get that whiff of Pioneer warmth. I leave it on all the time

Wow, what a shit show Jason. Hope it's something simple to fix
I don't know the specs of the RS model you have, Ron. I think that model is one used for a receiver or preamp that doesn't have a phono input. You use the auxiliary connections of the receiver or preamp to connect the RS to the turntable. Can't he use a Radio Shack 42-2109 phono preamp for MC? I still have one, those little boxes are gold in my book
Get that thing sold...

You could be leaving a lot on the table without matching impedance, output sensitivities of the cartridge to the phono section of your preamp/receiver or stand-alone.
I've heard many good testimonials on the Denon DL-110 cartridge.

So I hooked the 3600 back up and sure enough no low end. I got a bit mad so I had the old (kick it) thought running through my head. So instead of kicking it I unhooked it and from about 3 to 4 inches off the concrete and dropped it.... And guess what!!!!! ITS BACK..... This thing is badass now. All my lows are there. The clarity and detail and accuracy and BASS !!! Now this thing is sounding good..![]()
Don't use this technique for everyday troubleshooting. Will this one be going to Lee or Jer?I would have had a coronary watching something like this - damn dude.Don't use this technique for everyday troubleshooting. Will this one be going to Lee or Jer?
The good part of this is that you now know what the preamp is capable of - it just needs to be opened up to find the problem area and get it repaired.
