Your amp may be seeing 2-3 ohms with those speakers in parallel regardless of whether you think they are 8 ohms each
Besides that, The operators manual tells you how to hook up multiple speakers and that AINT the way.
His issue I think Perry is he had run it that way for 50 years before WOPL without problem. WOPL, problem. Is that right plex?
Thank you this is what I've been trying to say.His issue I think Perry is he had run it that way for 50 years before WOPL without problem. WOPL, problem. Is that right plex?
Picture of me 50 years ago with grandma hope you can see what's in the backround. I have better pics just got to find them.No way it ran like that for 50 years.
Dude anything not to believe me? I just changed the speaker wire not too long ago-I could take a picture of that too. Same old oxidated speaker wire we had from the 80s, soldered in parallel-we replaced it.Maybe you think you ran them in parallel 50 years ago, maybe you wired them like the book says 50 years ago.

I will have to measure it. Still does not explain the decades of distortion free operation.Just so you know, attach your ohm meter to the parallel speakers. Its probably in the 3 ohm range and that can go lower at certain freq's.

4.1 ohms View attachment 20220824_221947.jpgIt sure doesn't
I would like to know more about this procedure Fred
i too used an old 4 fin junker...i build an extra set of fins to boost cooling ....I understand about the cooling 4 fin vs 8 fin. But clipping is happening right away.
