Made mention of the multi- tape models to a local seller/ trader during a conversation today and boom- bam- alakazam, he has one that might fit the bill.

I had one in the past and the answer to all your questions is yes. I currently have a Pioneer 6 Cassette deck and it does the same things only it doesn't have the dubbing capability of the seven cassette beast. I got the 6 cassette deck from Larry in our holiday gift exchange a few years back.
