O we knew yesterday they were sealed.... No doubt about that man... GOOD MORNING Rigg !!! How are ya pal ?

Man those things are lookin sweet.

Thanks Pal... I'm going to give Sutton the credit on the Looks part !!! He just went out in his building... Grabbed a couple rolls of Veneer.... Came over to the house and slapped it on there... All I gotta do is about 6 coats of stain !!!!!!

So, are they sealed or vented?

Sutton....picture an 8ft long 4 foot X 4 foot square mouthed horn folded and split into a corner with the back of the woofer in a sealed box....tha's what you have.

The front of the woof fires through a 3" X 13" hole in the motorboard which forms the mouth of the horn.

I am going to mod these La Scalas (with Kevin's help) and we will see how they compare. I'm going to do the "dog house" mod on them and make the cabinets 5 cubic feet vented. I think that gives about a 30 hz tuning frequency. According to Dave Harris they will give the KHorns a run....

If they don't...I'm going to get me some KHorn cabinets....

Thread to follow....as soon as Kevin is up and running..

I know they won't be near the speaker...but I hope they aren't too shabby either....I'm looking for cabinets already...keep your ears to the ground..

Kev, on the mid horn you have to separate the 2 back pieces then bolt the mid driver to the very back one then bolt the two wood pieces back together...

The horn side of the back piece is countersunk for the bolts holding the driver to the back piece...
