Przem's Phase Linear 700 Series II White Oak Conversion

Cut throats, Browns and Rainbows.....Trout.... The Cut Throats are the hardest fighting of the bunch...

Trying to find a nice recipe in English, as trout is quite well present in our cuisine. Maybe here: http://www.outernetweb.com/recipes/ ...? You can scroll down to see some trout cooking Polish style.

have a lot of FUN during your fishin!!! Your bottle of burbon should't stay home alone then... ;-)

Jazz thinks she's not going so she has reverted to holding Ma Cat down in his chair, a tried ant true method. Since going blind she has not missed a trip.

You are her comfort zone. Kitty cuddles are important :happy7: Great companionship.

Aye, buddy...Have a great trip. I used to take rainbows and put a couple of pats of butter inside and out, salt/pepper, squeeze some lemon juice on 'em, and wrap them up individually in tin foil. About 4 min./side directly over hot coals or on the campfire. Ice cold beer, trout, coleman gas lanterns, and the Kern River up at Lake Isabella in the lower Sierra Nevada Mountains, just above Bakersfield, CA...awesome memories. I can't drink anymore 'cause the doctor said it would kill me the way I drink, so I had to give all alcohol up 24 years ago. But that doesn't stop me from gorging on trout!
Have fun, my friend...

I work with 3 phase mostly, just wondering if the same phenomenon is present here. When you take 3 phase 480 say, and single phase some 120 out of a couple legs your ground current goes up , does that happen here?

there should be no ground current, only neutral current. When working with 480V 3 phase, 120v is produced by using a 480:120 xfmr. One leg of the 120v secondary is called out the neutral. The neutral is usually bonded to ground. the primary of the 120v xfmr is connected phase to phase.

480 wye systems have a neutral, Each phase to neutral leg is 277VAC.

Correct Don, I was referring to a 3 phase system with an even number of transformers kicking down voltage, and the unbalanced voltage goes to neutral which is eventually ground....or any number of transformers that do not use all 3 legs of the 480 equally. .....from 3 phase 480 to single phase 120...in what we do not much of a prblem but say in an 80 story building it gets critical.....or so they tell me...

That one and a few more for sure...

Thinking about a 'new' vintage pair of speakers to be driven by this newly born WOPL Amp. To some extend space is no object, the price of course is :-)...

There are few hobbiests in EU, who clone old Klipschhorns, Altecs or JBLs but they pose a simple question: what model with horns I liked the most? And I only listed to them during concerts, never at home...

I wonder what setup would get most pro's from the forum Members...? Any ideas? Pictures / links to plans?

thank you!

That's such a tuff question, as nothing is definitive.
There are so many things to consider, starting with the room. This is argumentative of course, but I always start with the room and put together wot suits.
There are so many different types of horns, be it short throw, and long throw, and everything in between.
You have to think how they'll interact with the room. Generally, if a horn sounds too harsh, which they can do regardless of wot sort of compensation u use be it in the x-over, or type of electronics used, then you're just sitting too close to it. Horns need a bit of room to smooth out a bit.
The choices are endless, and best chance of finding something, is to have already heard wot u'r looking for elsewhere already, otherwise, u could end up costing endless amounts to find wot makes u happy.
I play with different setups all the time, and have generally found that the bigger the horn, then the lower it goes, which means it's a fuller more satisfying sound the more frequencies u pump through it, otherwise, when u narrow their bandwidth too much, then they stand out too much and start 'barking' at u.
I wish I could be more helpful, but ur just too far away.....

PLF, I have some K-Horn Speakerlab plans that I will send back with your amp. They are a perfect match for a WOPL. Concert level , and crystal clear. Cabinets are tedious but doable. The drivers are common but not cheap. There are only one serious choice for the woofer drivers---Crites 1526S==275.00 a pair. 2" compression drivers are either B & C DCM 50's or BMS 4592's, a good wood horn for the mids andd the tweets can be either B& C ME 10's or Crites CT-125'sd......simpl;y a killer combonation...

Many thanks Lee!

Are these: http://youtu.be/tsBrW7nLzlQ the ones you had in mind?

I know, this is complex and veeery theoretical... Still why not to exchange some views :glasses8:... The room is about 70 sq m (ca. 9m wide) and about 7m high. I had in mind two / three most encouraged horn setups that are designed as more HiFi than P.A. Speakers...

If you have two dedicated corners in a room that size you are halfway to Nirvana...

C'mon BD, you can do better than that....ya got plans for any JBL earthshakers??

Well, I was going to suggest a pair of these stacks, but that's just me…
… but then again, I have spoilt myself. :evil4:

I've given up on JBL. In fact, all my stuff is for sale now, as a I really don't need it any more.
It's come a long way since I been 'out there', and it's a new world these days Lee. A totally new world.
You won't believe some of the stuff I've been playing with. Even I don't believe it…… :-o
