Thinking about a 'new' vintage pair of speakers to be driven by this newly born WOPL Amp. To some extend space is no object, the price of course is

There are few hobbiests in EU, who clone old Klipschhorns, Altecs or JBLs but they pose a simple question: what model with horns I liked the most? And I only listed to them during concerts, never at home...
I wonder what setup would get most pro's from the forum Members...? Any ideas? Pictures / links to plans?
thank you!
That's such a tuff question, as nothing is definitive.
There are so many things to consider, starting with the room. This is argumentative of course, but I always start with the room and put together wot suits.
There are so many different types of horns, be it short throw, and long throw, and everything in between.
You have to think how they'll interact with the room. Generally, if a horn sounds too harsh, which they can do regardless of wot sort of compensation u use be it in the x-over, or type of electronics used, then you're just sitting too close to it. Horns need a bit of room to smooth out a bit.
The choices are endless, and best chance of finding something, is to have already heard wot u'r looking for elsewhere already, otherwise, u could end up costing endless amounts to find wot makes u happy.
I play with different setups all the time, and have generally found that the bigger the horn, then the lower it goes, which means it's a fuller more satisfying sound the more frequencies u pump through it, otherwise, when u narrow their bandwidth too much, then they stand out too much and start 'barking' at u.
I wish I could be more helpful, but ur just too far away.....
