Re: Larry's 700B
Ran into some problems liberating the meter attenuator knob/ switch from the face plate so Jani could work her magic.
Someone had tightened the set screw so tight they created a spall that kept the knob from coming off, even after all my tricks, PB blaster, Aerokroil, Heat Srink hot air gun, etc. Pryng the knob off from the front side would have only pulled the guts out of the switch as it came out. Pic 1. Fortunately on this switch model the shaft has a snapring to shoulder pressure on the switch body. Pic2. Pic 3 shows the pry tool necessary to separate the knob from the switch, thought for awhile I was going to have to fabricate a microswitch/ gutted pot sub, for my 700 after replacing it for Larry's. But it all came out well. Iwas able to see the snap ring only after thinking all that was involved if i screwed this switch up, a flashlight and some slack in the shaft allowed me to see the snap ring and know I could pry from the back, lesson learned, so all who read this won't have too.
