… and that tip ain't being much help either.
A flat [chisel/square, i.e., not pointy] tip would be best for max heat transfer.<script type="text/javascript" src="safari-extension://com.ebay.safari.myebaymanager-QYHMMGCMJR/6f136b72/background/helpers/prefilterHelper.js"></script>

Agreed Bd, and more side than tip would help too as you've said...

D2, get some paper towel, and fold it a few times, then dampen it with some water. Then wipe ur tip a few times, and re-tin the tip with some fresh solder and tackle it again straightaway before that solder starts to go 'off'.

D2, I gotta be up at 5AM. It is now midnight. Finish those 2 solder joints up and we'll finish up tomorrow Bud. BD can get ya through these 2 joints. BD, when he gose with the new 60/40 he can tone down that iron...

I have an air compressor to so can blow those metal bits away when we are done.

D2--MUCH BETTER> Finish off with the new solder and call it a night....here anyway...later Bud..

Thats the hardest one and the scariest one because its so close to the component.

OK, I gotta go to the shop for awhile in the morning. I'll let ya know. Finish those 2 joints with the new solder. Do what BD suggested. Get a water wet rag and wipe your tip off and retin it. Then attack the joint. Nite..
