Derek92994's 700 Ser II White Oak conversion

We are going to wire and solder starting at the BR. It's hard to get to once the wires are run accross it. So......where the small black and white wires are tied to the BR, thats where the red wires go. Get those in place and poist a pic before we solder....

Yes D2. Turn that soldering iron up and pre solder the tip. You want to make a good joint but you don't want to fry the BR or melt the tranny wires back a lot. Run the solder iron on the side of the tab AWAY from where the wire comes into the tab. Run it vertical to get the maximum amount of contact for best heat transfer. Keep trying to feed solder till it starts to melt then make sure it's soldered on both sides of the tab...

See ya tomorrow Bro's, I can't keep my eyes open anymore. Have fun firing the big bitch up D2

Focker OUT

My soldering is so bad.....I can't seem to get the solder to go where i want it to, but its solid, and the wires dont move. I had to keep stopping as i dont want to get the bridge rectifier too hot.

Keep in mind D2, it's almost 10.15pm over 'there' right now…..
[just thought I'd mention it.]

show us a pic of ur soldering iron and tip please D2.
u just may have to get a better iron. :(

these are very critical joints.<script type="text/javascript" src="safari-extension://com.ebay.safari.myebaymanager-QYHMMGCMJR/6f136b72/background/helpers/prefilterHelper.js"></script><script type="text/javascript" src="safari-extension://com.ebay.safari.myebaymanager-QYHMMGCMJR/6f136b72/background/helpers/prefilterHelper.js"></script>

OK, you don't have enough iron to hurt that BR. plus it's heatssunk. Lay the heat to it again and smooth those blobs up. The solder should flow smoothly from the tab to all the wire strands...

You're doin good D2, just gotta not be afraid of hurting that BR. I shouldn't have mentioned it. Lay the heat to it...

You hav e to maintain contact long enough to get a good flow of solder. Just dont spend any time after it's flowed WELL>>>>
