Derek92994's 700 Ser II White Oak conversion

Okay, just got a call, gotta go to the field. In the next hole goes the brown wire , then skip a hole then the orange and the last one---yellow?

That looks good there D2. REMEMBER....after you get all the wires soldered in CHECK FOR SOLDER SPLASH, wire wiskers, etc and vacuum before you put the caps back in. Get the caps back in and tightened up and wired in. Top cap( or away from you) has the positive terminal toward the backwall. Bottom cap ( or the one closest to you ) has the negative terminal towards the back wall.

DO NOT POWER UP ANYTHING TILL I GET BACK AND HAVE A LOOK AT THE PICS OF PROGRESS.
Live long and prosper Grasshopper...gotta go..F*&^%$# oil spill...

This is before soldering, will wait for the go ahead.

Ahhh, ok I'll solder these and follow instructions.

Just think D2, in a few hours you will be blowing the funnel web spiders out of your house!

Derek: I followed along until as late as I could last night and caught up on your progress this morning. You are getting close. You must be tired. It felt like I was an expectant father during my wife's labour. You probably don't want to hear it: "Come on...one more push, push hard..."

Nando.

Thanks for the encouragement my good friend. Yes I have been up 16 hours and ain't stopping =)

Damn dude ! You're one dedicated audio stud :hello1:

Nearly 18 hours now, and I just finished! Posting pics in a sec. BUT I will not be powering on without Lee going over the pics with a magnifying glass. My feet are killing me and my back is sore, but its so worth it.

These amps are a lot larger in real life than in pictures. Huge meters and face plate. Love it!

These are pictures taken to ensure there are no Whisker hairs or Solder splashes about. This was after vacuuming and checking carefully.....

Ok, I really hope this capacitor does not have a problem. No I didn't drop it.

Final Re-assemble: (Without Needle Nose Pliers! :evil4:)

Ready to rattle spiders out of the house......I'll be sure to use my residual current safety switch on first power up when Lee gives the go ahead.

D2, the black center tap from the transformer secondary to the center of the cap hold down strap is NOT going to cut it. That wire terminates under the bus bar screw that you also have the chassis ground single wire connected to. That needs to be corrected.

I don't fully understand, what do I need to do?
