Derek92994's 700 Ser II White Oak conversion

Full Bias please :evil4:

Rough day for me, have not been feeling well, had a rest and not much better, gotta stick it out.

A friend of mine has suggested Passive pre-amp where the signal does not flow through a volume pot. I'll audition one sometime and see how it sounds.

Resistors also have noise.......the only thing that does not produce noise is a piece of wire with gain.....

Not much advantage then compared to conventional pre amp? Those passive things are quite expensive too.

Could plug the source directly into the WOPL and use the volume pots on the amp itself if I want to be as direct as possible source wise?

Yes you could. But remember, a good pot is almost invisible anyway. I have run CDP's straight to the WOPL's, with a good pre I would be hard pressed to tell a difference and doubt I could do it in a blind test....

Right channel done....

I have to bring up the power supply on a variac and DBT after the big caps have discharged fully. It'll take out a 20 amp breaker if I dont.

Fucking Hilarious :laughing3::laughing3::laughing3:

I asked only because it looked like a flat washer and a nut in the center of the board in some of those pics.

That's what holds the boards to the chassis until the outputs are mounted.
