Laz, the initial edge of a percussion note is very dependent on slew rate or rise time. An amps ability to respond to a note of music , especially a loud percusion note takes a fast rise time and headroom....somethging the WOPL has in spades. When I was in Phoenix at Steve Evans place, after he let the Silver Shadow 400 warm ip he played some drums and percussion stuff that was incredible from a " how the F&^% does that guy do that" perspective. Steve had a shit-eating grin the whole time saying" That's exactly what that sounds like live".. The drummer was amazing and very fast, a lot of atarts and stops, and Steve said that's the first time he heard it reproduced like that, and he has owned a LOT of high dollar amps...that was the 400 I FC'd and WOPL'd to the hilt and built the copper heatsinks for, he also supplied blackgates for the driver board and it was and still is a phenomenal amp.....
