What do I need to do to fix that ground thingy?
Attach it to the same screw in the middle of the bus bar that you have the other black wire attached to already.

That wire is THE single point ground. It is where all life originates in any PL amp. Make sure it is secure to the bus bar.

Tooth washers are ALWAYS placed on the stationary side of things (bus bar, cap stud, etc.) that are being attached together, not the rotating part (screw).

What Joe is saying D2 is that where you have the black wire with the terminal end you soldered on needs to come off of there and go under the nut that holds the ground wire to the BABB. Attach on the opposite side of the bus bar that the other black ground wire is.......

Minor comment from the uninitiated, but the grey lead with the insulated end probably shouldn't be laying against the terminal strip. I'd move that so its not in contact with anything. Just personal preference there.

Morning D - read post 960 from Joe. There's a test you can perform to verify the caps are still good without risking damage to other components of your new beauty.

That cap was run for a week like that.

D2, I thought I saw a wire whisker on the backplane board, on the far left board, far left side just above and to the right from the double red caps.....can we have another pic of that area?

Hey Paul - those caps on Derek's counter top have not been formed. You may want to read the cap forming thread. Good to see you.

Ok - thought it was shipping damage while in route to Oz.

Nope, happened here I believe...it was packed pretty well Dennis. The only thing I was worried about was the heatsinks punching through the box...
