Lou Donaldson: Midnight Creeper
Alan Vega: S/T
Alan Vega: Collision Drive
Chuck Berry: Golden Decade

Midnight Creeper is one on my wish list- nice grab, Dave.

Feeling a bit jazzy and always have a soft spot for the old lounge stuff, so came home with these:

Jimmy Smith: Any Number Can Win
Martin Denny: Primitiva
Miles Davis: E.S.P.

Ben: Are you still going to be interested in an original copy of "Fly On The Wall?" I haven't found one, yet, in town. I would be curious how the re-issue turned out for sound quality.

Nando.

Absolutely Nando. I figured if I bought a reissue, an original Canadian pressing would turn up not long after. Its happened to me several other times with other albums I had been looking for.

As for the sound quality........ Fly On The Wall, and Flick Of The Switch were both self produced by the band. That being said sound quality wasnt really a factor in this grab. On the other hand, these Rhino vinyl releases of Pantera, and Sabbath alike, are all great sounding reissues of the original work.

I Think It Was Ordained

My local record shop owner relocated to his cousin's bookstore in a trendy urban shopping area after a fire last year, making it much harder for me to get to than just walking down the street from campus which was my usual. But I got a bee up my ass yesterday and drove down there to see what was new. As luck would have it, the only parking place within two miles was right in front of the bookstore.

It was a good omen.

Three rarities, all in mint condition:

Canned Heat.jpg Roy Buchanan.jpg Commander Cody.jpg

The Canned Heat is an Italian remaster, unopened until this morning, the Commander Cody is a great live recording by Wally Heider Studios mobile truck from the Armadillo in Austin, TX in 1973 and is much, much better sonically than any of their studio stuff and it is in mint condition, and finally, Roy Buchanan's Hot Wires which is also in mint condition. Amazing music on all three. A nice way to spend the morning...
