Skynyrd77's Thank Godamighty , Finally My Own WOPL Build Thread!!

I guess we would call that empirical evidence the protection circuit is not involved with the act of clipping....

Current starvation??

How about a math error. Did you tell your AP that it was a 4 ohm load you were driving?? I have to tell my HP what I am driving.

You posted earlier that it was 55V into 4 ohms at 14A = 770W

You posted earlier that it was 63V into 8 ohms at 8A = 504W

yes, it is measuring power onto 8 ohms. Haven't figured out how to change it yet. So the 378 at 4 ohms was really 750 plus....

Times 2 (for the 4 ohm factor) = 774W

You indicated earlier that the PS voltage was sagging to 79V when you were wailing on it at 4 ohms. Well your 55V RMS is 77.7V peak which is all she's got.

"Captain, I think you are going to need a bigger boat..."

Mine is a command line setting on the HP, it is buried in your AP documentation somewhere. Your 387 reading is really 774W into 4.

LMOAO!!!!!

Controlling PS voltage sag would go a long ways in the watts out department, while also running up against SOA... just don't get something for nothing...jeez....physics works....
