Ron: That's an interesting cartridge and head shell combination. It's not an inexpensive cartridge for a moving iron one. Thanks for getting the word out on the Carmen.

Mike, that's some beautiful stuff, a bit pricey too...but DC to 70K out of a record groove is insane.....how did the cutting lathe get that info in the groove?

Hi Lee, Hi Ron.
A strain gauge cartridge is like our big amps. Once you here the difference, its hard to listen to a standard amp or cartridge.
I have a bunch of cartridges, Shure v-15 III, Dynavectors, Ma2002e. many At's and new blue and red otofon's I tried
before I had the "strain" re-tipped. Nothing comes even close to what I hear with the Strain gauge.
Its that good.

Glad to see you offed some of that collection. It also sounds like you've been very busy with the system...

Those who enter the man cave will get WOPLed
I have ordered a LP Gear "Improved" Ortofon OM20 stylus, upgrading from the OM10 to put on my Thorens TD 165. I want to keep less than perfect records away from the AT440MLa to preserve stylus life and also the OM20 will be less revealing and more tolerant of older records while still providing a nice price/performance ratio.
