Sweet Moods of Jazz in Stereo Promo tape from Soundcraft featuring some great laid back jazz. Coleman Hawkins leading a really good crew on a set of standards. Sounds quite nice. Actually listening to a digitization of this one. The tape I came across is a 2 track and my deck is a 4 track so when you play it, the left channel is down considerably in volume, which from what I read seems to be normal when doing this. So I digitized and matched the levels before burning to CD to bring along for a listen. Will probably record it back to another reel in 4 track and just stash the original tape for safe keeping.

I purchased this record new back in the day, but his studio records got a lot more play. Rocky Mountain Way must have been something to experience in concert. I remember that my brother saw JW on this tour, not sure why I missed it.

Yeah played to death no doubt! Interesting bit about how the lyrics came to Joe while he was mowing the lawn...

Walsh appeared in studio on The Howard Stern Show on June 12, 2012 and talked about how the lyrics to the song came to him in 1972 shortly after releasing his first solo effort, Barnstorm.

"I'm living in Colorado and I'm mowing the lawn. I look up and there's the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains and there's snow on them in the summer. And it knocked me back because it was just beautiful. And I thought, well I have committed. I'm already in Colorado and it's too late to regret the James Gang. The Rocky Mountain Way is better than the way I had. Because the music was better. I got the words, bam! I got all of the words all at once and ran into the house to write the words down. The lawn mower kept going over into the neighbor's yard and ate the garden. It was an expensive song to write!"
 
I always wondered if he influenced the Eagles more that the Eagles influenced Him....
 
"Do I Hear Bubbles" has to be a reference to " But Seriously Folks".....

he brought alot to the eagles, i dont think he took much though. he has a style thats all joe walsh no matter what band hes in lol.
he really upped the eagles guitar playin and added tons to the harmonies plus a few great songs of his also
