Without starting a new thread I'd say this is a real good place to ask this question......... I'd like to know what everyone's favorite recording is ??? Ya know.... The cd you pull out when you want your stereo to sound the best. I've got a bunch of cd's but, Cd's that sound real good are far and few between to me. I'd say over half the stuff I have I WILL NOT play cause they sound like crap. I just have started using I tunes and a lap top..... I like that pretty good but still not sure if it sounds as good as a real good cd recording.....

There are a few. I try to use a CD that is complex. Like with Piano, Sax an orchestra. I tunes is MP3 right? The site I get my music from is Spotify. They use flac files. There is only 2 or 3 that doesn't do MP3 that I know of.

Would you like to try a DAC and Anti-jitter. I think I have some up in the loft. I will have to look. If I find them. I can send you some if you want.

I just put one on. Steely Dan Aja. This is a test CD for me. This is complex music for me. A lot of different sounds coming at you at once. Talking Heads is another one that will tax your speakers. B-52s just the vocals will let you know if something is amiss with your system.

Larry, I do have the Aja cd and that is one of my three or four that I can stand to listen to..... I sounds really good. I got a Delbert McClinton cd That is real good to.... I'd say I'm going to catch Hell for admitting this but the best recording I got is a Madonna cd !!! It's the Immaculate collection cd ! Like a prayer sounds better than anything I've ever heard ........ Sounds like my speakers are 30 feet wide and about 25 feet high !!!!! Unreal recording....

For sound quality try Tracy Chapman's first CD and her New Beginnings CD.
