I love the black finish, too. Gives the deck a serious-business look. Ron: I think the receiver that I had shown in black was the European equivalent to the Pioneer SX-1080.

Those are definitely Twinimage's customized decks. Not only does he do the paint jobs, but all his Pioneer decks are rebuilt from the ground up.

If you buy one, its like buying a brand new deck.

Yes I have a few of his reels. The one's in my avatar are done by him, plus I have some Sony reels done in black with gold lettering and some Sony gold reels done with black lettering.

By the way, the TC-765 in my avatar was rebuilt by him a couple of years ago.

I get a lot of use out of the 765. I have one deck that needs to be serviced at the moment. The only problem with that is, the techs are so darn busy. So I'm in line for the future.

People who claim ownership of such nice equipment should at least post a pic with that same specific gear in their personal setup. It is too easy to just download pics from google and claim ownership.

Edit: Notice those pics were "showroom" type pics and not shown in a real operative setup.

Pretty sure he has those decks listed on ebay. Or had.

Twinimage is the real deal.

My apologies Twinimage, I guess I'm not used to seeing such professional pics. Most people post pics of the units in their setup, or in a home environment, nice work =)

Hi, here is the Teac X-2000 score/scroe I did last year:

It was provided with a dozen of NAB tapes and a NIB TZ-650 dust cover.
I fixed the mechanical problems (frozen pinch roller arms & melted belt, thanks to Skywavebe for the tips).
It plays flawlessly but the recording sound very bad (no treble, not yet fixed BTW).

I have the 7" Revox reel, wish I had the NAB. I have a Twinimage Maxell like Oldaudioschool's courtesy of him...no Pioneer reels at all.

Exactly. I have seen those photos somewhere else... I agree with you. But, as I said: perhaps Twinimage is indeed the owner...The photos are nice anyway!

Hello. I am sorry for delayed respond. I have a bad habit no to replay on time.
To clarify everything.
Decks are mine.
I did not post any set up, because I am not listener, but professional technician.
I listen music at work all day long, I got tired of it.
Even radio in my car is off, when I driving.
Yes, the pictures are made by pro photographer, and yes, they are "showroom" type pictures.
Black Pioneers are rebuilt decks, customized in black.
I use "powder coating" method.
yes, it is a guy in Europe, whom made black Pioneers RT-909 by anodizing.
His name is Vlad Finche, if I remember correctly, and he also add a remote control to RT-909.
I don't do anodizing on the front panel, because it very difficult to make.
You will need a pristine front panel or any small dents or scratches will shows.
As far as the reels, 10.5" and 7", those are made from scratch.
The only part I don't make is a hub, on which reel is assembled and it made by someone else.
Hub for 7" reel is made by me, and each by hand.
I have plans to make them by plastic extrusion die in the future, it will bring the cost down.
As soon I find extra $25k to do it.
And in the end here is the picture, not photo shopped, or altered in anyway.
