Got my "Bag-o-Mouser" goodies, now we can populate 2 more boards. One will be for a soon arriving 400, and the other for Suttons White Oak 1000. BUT__ I ROYALLY SCREWED UP> Joe sent his care package with the leads already bent. These are all straight, so I called Mouser and put a screeching halt on the buyout of most of the TO-3's at their place and had em add a "Lead Bender" to that order. WHEW!!

there's just something about grabbin that sack of NEW electronic stuff.

Stuwee. If they were Nirvana they wouldn't have quit making them. Anything that good that keeps making money will be kept on the assembly.

I can't wait to watch the progress on the Laatsch White Oak Phase Linear 700/700B 1000 Hybrid RIGG. Now I'll be on the watch for a preamp to drive it all....On the watch for a PL 3300 SER II. Now, does it need upgrades as well? Maybe I can give them a try with a good bunch of directions from Lee.

Yeah.....the search for Nirvana....I have stacks of stuff from the hunt....and the wallet is about empty...but now I'm going to sell the old soldiers..I have many Fisher 400 and 500 receivers, Harman Kardon, Luxman, Rotel, Eastern Electric, Dynaco, Quicksilver, Bottlehead, Yaqin, Marantz, Bogen and more all in stock in my building. I may keep the Sherwood Newcastle pre/pro and my Bryston and Hafler amps for my movie watching setup, but a lot of the other stuff will all have to go. I have a feeling I'm going to be forced to go the route of PL stacks and pulling out the old Lambda Acoustic Monster speakers with 15" bass drivers and 2 passive radiators, with the horn loaded tweets for the PL's............I'll have to bi-amp with the 1000B on the bottom and a 400 Ser I ( or will it be a Rigged 550 when done?) Anyone done the White Oak boards in a 400 yet? What does the output do?

Joe's done a 400, I don't think he tests them to destruction like the rest of us.

Larry will be giving up his 3300 Ser II when i get his 4000 done. The 3300 is REAL EASY to work on , swap out 23 caps , 4 op-amps and ya got a killer pre.

Hmmm I hadn't thought about it. I have been to Wise VA. Won't need a pre when I send this one to Lee. I have a Hafler. Let me think on this.

Oh yeah, I'm a speaker nut...been doing DIY for years. Right now I'm running the Linus Arrays, designed by Dr. Griffith, I think....anyway used 12 5.5" aluminum cone MCM drivers and 6 planar tweeters per side..and that's on my front. On the rear I'm using 2 Peerless HDS 8" and a Seas tweeter with a crossever designed by Madisound..
I have the Lambda Acoustics, and a pair of vintage Altec Lansings which are high on my list of candidate speakers for the PL setup...

I'm sorry.....no I have not heard the Jensen Imperials....and yes, I was told these speakers, built by the Lambda Acoustics designer, did have the B & C drivers... Ithe crossovers he gave me the schematics to build, sound like crap, so I used an old Soundcraftsman EQ and could get them to sound great, but the WAF got them moved out of the house...

The cabinets are very close, but slightly different. They were built by the Lambda guys, and all I did was pick them up in Florida and bring them home. The woffers are mounted slightly lower in the front, and the passives are on the left and right sides of the cabs. They use the metal aluminum "phase plugs" which were a trademark of Lambdas drivers as points on the bottom of the speakers.

My K's have the B&C DCM 50 2" horn drivers, LOVE EM. Now if you had a K-Horn bass bin with those horns on top.......................

Thing is, the horns are part of one big cab, like the ones in the link above, os unless I get the circular saw out, there is no way to change things other than a different 15" driver for the bottom of the cabinet. I do have two versions of the Lambda Woofers, The TD and the SD...one better than the other....

I hope I can find someway to EQ the drivers though...the crossover design in these sucks. Maybe I should go with some new way to get these things flat. I remember at some point there was a device that would create the filter internally......here we go.....I've lost it.........can't remember what the hell it was. I remember it was out of my price range at the time though...............

But I'm getting off topic.....back to the MONSTER 700/700B RIGG...........
