I can't wait to watch the progress on the Laatsch White Oak Phase Linear 700/700B 1000 Hybrid RIGG. Now I'll be on the watch for a preamp to drive it all....On the watch for a PL 3300 SER II. Now, does it need upgrades as well? Maybe I can give them a try with a good bunch of directions from Lee.

Yeah.....the search for Nirvana....I have stacks of stuff from the hunt....and the wallet is about empty...but now I'm going to sell the old soldiers..I have many Fisher 400 and 500 receivers, Harman Kardon, Luxman, Rotel, Eastern Electric, Dynaco, Quicksilver, Bottlehead, Yaqin, Marantz, Bogen and more all in stock in my building. I may keep the Sherwood Newcastle pre/pro and my Bryston and Hafler amps for my movie watching setup, but a lot of the other stuff will all have to go. I have a feeling I'm going to be forced to go the route of PL stacks and pulling out the old Lambda Acoustic Monster speakers with 15" bass drivers and 2 passive radiators, with the horn loaded tweets for the PL's............I'll have to bi-amp with the 1000B on the bottom and a 400 Ser I ( or will it be a Rigged 550 when done?) Anyone done the White Oak boards in a 400 yet? What does the output do?

Newbie

the 400's that leave here typically do 275-280 watts per just before clipping.

Got the faceplate off, man she's rough.

A Spec 2 faceplate is the EXACT SAME DIMENSION..........................................

A Spec/Phased-White Oak...............................................................................

Ok fellas, any ideas on new silkscreen or refinish of the old aluminum faceplate beis the previous idea garnered no comment????? I'm lost here guys, this is where I say (in Schultz's voice) " I know nuthink" .

I tried to follow the posts. I'm confused what you want to do? Do you want the face polished? I wasn't going to say anything since Jani does a good job.

Larry

Jani doesn't do silkscreening. I was in "orangespeak" mode. I was confused too. Guess you could see that though, I was just throwing out ideas, seeing if any off em tripped any triggers.

A lot of people do. Are you going to have to do a bunch? If so I may know a place who will do one for you. Be about 50.00.

Larry

The coolest part of this discovery is that I can use bottom pivoted 400 meters, always thought they were cooler looking. AND, I have a couple road weary 400's that have great lookin meters.
Sold a METER board complete with meters for a Spec 2 awhile back, kinda regret that now.

yah, i slapped that into "favs" when ya posted it last time.
