lee looking at the power supply there isn't enough filtering. tube circuits unless power stages should at least have 3 sections of filtering, r/c networks, the regulaor and the diodes aren't needed. tubes have a wide range of operation not like transistors. In my opinion...
I would add another r/c after the regualtor, this will bump up the voltage some but you can adjust the resistor to adjust for the output voltage.

Ok John, let me digest all this stuff. Gotta go tpo the field for a little bit, then got a local who brought a 400 by to be converted.

Oh, I've spread some PL seed up here. Anywhere in Gillette is 5 min from my house.

Well, it quieted down a bunch after switching which filament wire I cap-bypassed, phono stage, not a black hole, but can't notice it till you put your ear up to the speaker, everything else, a magnitute lower. Gotta mow the lwn, then we'll try the TT and some pots on the phono board inputs.

I heard the neighbors in WY are complaining about the loud music at all hours and the lawn that has gone to seed... :-)

Where are their priorities?

Exactly Joe, I mean DAYAM--where's the neighborhood kid that wants to mow lawns!!

Johnny D, I have some 400 volt , 4300 uf caps if you can use em.

That kid is on the couch playing video games Lee. I guess I wouldn't mind as much if that kid was designing video games, but that ain't happening either.

Amen Joe. know exactly what you mean.

It's gettin there Paul.

Next weekend is time to get the sound room set up and all the stuff out of my living room finally. We are making progress though. A very little at a time. LOL Good luck Lee and happy listening.

Don't know if we'll listen to it too long. I'm sure you're wanting this pretty soon.

Take your time. I'm in no hurry. It will be awhile till I'm ready. I Have to make cables and a few things I have to dial in. Roll some tubes and things. Want to get the best possible sound. So I will spend some time playing around.

Pretty impressive distortion specs, hang on a few minutes.

What ever they are I don't think they would be the same as a stock amp. I don't know. I do look at distortion. Don't remember the numbers. I almost went with some different Diodes but I didn't.

Ok. I thought it was a damn good start, considering what it was before.
