You thought you would never hit the SOA protection Lee?
Are you looking at your 79.7V with the scope or are you looking at the RMS value with a DMM.
The Fluke 179, set on DC volts...
So, you're saying the 1304 and 5's are in play...?
That is giving you an RMS reading Lee. It may be drooping terribly on a cycle by cycle basis. You should check.
Ok, how do I set up the scope??

Ooops thought this was a converted one. Then just look at the B+ collector rail on the channel you are measuring. And don't blow it up.
