Przem's Phase Linear 700 Series II White Oak Conversion

She was still a hottie last time I saw a pic of her...legs to die for still...

I think it was her 70th birthday on Oprah, or some such nonsense..

I knew it was a beast.. But until you posted all this I didn't realize a 700 was as important for the old shows as it was..they powered some of the best bands ever..

Przem, I am having hell finding anything that fits in the allotted space. I am thinking of going with 14 gauge SO.. with 240 volt mains that would be like having #10 wire on your mains cable. And it would still fit. What do you think...

And I've never seen a 20 amp BR in a 700. Nice power supply caps, but at 11,000uf not much above the stock ones. I have some 15,000uf at 160 volters I'll sub. I have a project that the 11,000 would be just fine in so I'll swap ya straight accross for em. The Br will get a new 35 amp sub. I would say that 20 amp is on borrowed time. Fully loaded into 4 ohms could run right up to that 20 amp rating...

Hew about I put the fuseholder on the side by the transformer??

The IEC socket you sent would fit if I moved the fuseholder, the one in the pic you posted is to big...

Here's another idea. If I take the Aux socket out with a little work the IEC socket will fit there, and the fuseholder could stay...

Well, that's really the only place I can shoehorn in the IEC socket. Surely you have another source for the fan??

OK, is the aux socket 240 or 120?? If it's 240 in that's usually what the aux socket is too unless you run a ground and one leg of the 240 and that's not how this one was wired...

It appears it has an additional winding on the transformer, or a dual primary where you could tap 120. Did you have 120 at the aux socket?

I see an additional wire in the windings, so yeah it looks like 120 is possible. I'll have to wire nut some things and plug it in and check it out...

Lee, if you started drilling, could we swap the AUX 110VAC socket below, somewhere next to the AC fuse holder? Or indeed put the IEC socket aside next to transformer? Sorry for late reaction...

Looks like a painted chassis...
