Going to a friend's funeral. Sucks...
looks like our rainy season started yesterday here....i am in guanacaste province which is the driest...compared to other parts of the country....What's up today Perry. Getting in any trouble ?
its a nasty job...but you have to rescue it!!!So far I aint been able to save much over my life but some beat up stereo equipment. Nice point above. "so is the cycle of life".
my condolences....Going to a friend's funeral. Sucks...
Agreed. If I didn't know better I would think I was getting old. Those things seem to come faster and faster these days.
They are a water base component and can dry up over time. If they are small caps like 100 volt or less, 100 uf or so forming them would be tedious, but bigger power supply caps should be formed. Smaller values and voltages should be doable, check values with a meter. Check ESR too..question ....
i was scrounging today and found a box of at least 25 year old electrolytic caps...new old stock so to speak...never been in circuit ..are they good to use??? do they deteriate with age or use or both...
asking for a friend....
i agree with you and sniff....new ones are so cheap...no sense in taking the chance....i was just curious....but, in an emergency....i guess i would test with my meter and use them until new ones could be had...They are a water base component and can dry up over time.
