Pioneer SX-1280

Brought it down to Audio Lab today. Had to pahk tha cah in Havahd yahd.

Man I hate driving into Boston, streets are nuts, no grid plans.

A friend of mine from New York who now lives in Maine once asked me, "what's the most dangerous vehicle on the road?"

His reply: "a Buick with Mass plates.."

From experience, I knew exactly what he ment.

No, it's about elderly Mass drivers. The young ones are bad enough.
I drive my Buick to Mass on Sundays and never had a complaint about my driving being too slow.

You mean you never "heard" any complaints. :cussing:
True enough, Joe. People are so polite when you are wrapped around 5000 lbs. of sheet metal.

He knows, he's giggin ya, and his Buick probably smokes em in the first 3 gears.

A pristine Pioneer SX-1250, I spoke about earlier, had sold at Innovative Audio for $950. In speaking to Gordon from IA today, I'm hoping to visit there maybe in early December. He has Speakerlab copies of Khorns and original KHorns, presently, in the sound room. Also, a pair of Pioneer HPM-150 speakers have just come in. He is urging me to consider a Pioneer SX-1010 in excellent condition which arrived along with other in-original-packing carton Pioneer gear, including speakers. I'm almost tempted to trade in my Pioneer SX-1050 for the SX-1010, as the SX-1010 is one of the best mid 70's receiver built.

950.00 for a 1250 was high, but they don't make em anymore so............

The Speakerlab copies of K-Horns is what I have, they take 1800.00 in new drivers to bring em up to snuff. What's he asking for both??

It was bought immediately before it was even listed on the IA web site. We had better appreciate what we already own, Lee, because the benchmark pricing for vintage equipment is steadily rising as we get older. And I imagine any of the Phase Linear powerhouses will be in lock step with the rest... it's just that PL 700s don't come up for sale that often.

No idea. But, the original Klipschorns are Gordon's personal pair.
