Nice instant Spec setup for someone. :thumbright:
I thought so too, Dale is drooling over the TT, he has the same PL-1000, his dust cover is almost opaque with scratches and old age. that one is almost perfect, plus the rest could be used for parts for his. If it doesn't sell as a system, he'll part everything out. I bet he'd sell the TT for $50 since it's got issues, Possible score for Dale

I have been thinking about the TT covers. I have 3 ways that I think would work pretty good. Mirror glaze would do ok. Micro mesh would make it look like new but it is a long process. Then the headlight lens stuff. It works great on the car lenses.

It's too much elbow grease for my skinny arms, I'd rather find a nice one to swap in.

I'm still looking for a Thorens TD-125 MK II cover, Jerome aka 'Hakka' over at ST has a brand new one, but he has a brand new TT to go with it, they're out there, the hunt is half the fun!

I have an old Pioneer I cribbed from a thrift store find for now that fits pretty good, so no worries

Nope, but I did lose the manual for the cassette deck
The SAE system was my first 'Big Boy' rig :cherry:
$2,500 all in!! J&R had a hefty discount when I bought them. I used to have moola  . They were $600 and $700 list each. I still have the amp and pre :love3: . The other 4 pieces got stolen in the 'Great Storage locker break-in'

It's just one of those things with hanging onto the original documentation, some people think why bother, but I say why not. Just like holding onto the original packing cartons; I do it, even for my Pioneer HPM-150 speakers. We're a quirky bunch!

It's nice to see both Lee and stuwee have displayed their original documentation. Stuwee, I hadn't realized you had your SAE gear from brand new.

Ooooo say it again in Italian!! remember the Lion King and the hyena's? "Mufasa, say it again! Muuuufaasa, Ooooo, makes me all tingly

Nando, I ws so proud of that SAE system, it was so modern in an industrial way, not like my ex's B&O Beogram sleek utra Danish mod set up, but mine sounded better :thumbright:  :thumbleft:

And he could never figure out how to work it, I even had the daisy chain turn on hooked up. "Just turn the amp on first dummy" , he'd say "Which one is the amp????"   Good times

I have to admit; a towering rack of SAE components has more allure than a Spec rack. Just don't tell Lee I said so. Seems to me I have an SAE preamp I haven't plugged in since finding it.

The cool thing about the pre was it had output meters, dual pre-outs for multiple amps, and when you touched any key/button it automatically ramped the volume to 0 then back up to where you had it before, so no pops or loud blasts going into a high gain source from a low one. That's why you could turn the system on from the amp first, no pre turn on thunk! Clever. No remote tho
