Gene, curious if your noticing any difference in amplifier temperatures or getting a slight hiss on the tweeters with the volume turned all the way down. One forum member, can't recall who, built a tri-amp or quad-amp system with JBL driver's and solved a tweeter hiss problem by adding a resistor and cap if I remember correctly to the tweeter.
Isn't technology wonderful! It's amazing what these modern active crossovers can do. I looked long and hard for a old school active crossovers with physical knobs that would do stereo subs. I found none, yet most every DSP will do this. Even my old legacy MiniDsp 2x4 will. Have fun!
amps are much cooler...the woofer one gets a little warm..the other two do not...makes sense though as they are doing less work...i have not pushed it hard for an extended period of time yet....wanted to make sure the wiring and configs dont get a tweeter...it can easily happen as you already know..
i appreciate your advice...i really like the multiamp setup without parasitic drag!!!
i was surprised....
no noise..a slight relay click when dsp wakes up...inside the dsp...and of course the dcp relay clicks....no turn on turn off pops or clicks...no noise whatso ever... that i can can detect...i am still learning though....
it has a bt module that lets me configure it and operate it from android...to use a pc...one must use the provided usb cable to configure from pc...something strange i noticed...if you configure on pc..android cant see that config if you save it..and vice versa...evidently configs or presets as dayton calls them are stored on pc/android and not in the device....with the bt module you can stream directly to the dsp...from whetever..you can stream bt from pc...just no configure without cable...i really never thought i would notice the difference...but i did...so did maria...i will hook up the 200 tomorrow to tweeters as they use very little power..
barely move the meters...i want the 4 fin to drive the voigts...i will use seperate dac/preamp if there is a difference using the 200...i will look for another 400...but no hurry...i have a few spare boards and outputs and various parts...and i can always wopl if necessary!!! i am sure eventually they all will be upgraded as the fail in time...
this is my first go round with a dsp...they are quite advanced...took all day to make cables remove and rewire after removing the passive crossovers...moving the equipment and configuring dsp....no complaints...i enjoy!!!
i think a standalone dsp would be very expensive and quite restrictive...computers just do it easier and more completely...
take care
