phase linear 400

Gene, watched about 45 min of that video, very intriguing. I've seen some of his others, notably where he attaches a transducer to various flat materials including a balsa wood block board. I'll finish it tomorrow when I get time. His lab building is amazing with that huge open upstairs area.

good morning....got my new transistor tester in....that you guys pointed out to me...
and wouldnt you know it....
it seems to work...but the bottom half of the screen is missing....
i only see 1/2 of the results....
oh well...maybe i can try again???

More Chineez junk Gene...
yes, i must admit...it is...it was just something to experiment with...
if i did this for a living i would be more careful of the quality....
i did write to the vendor...i have had good luck with explaining to amazon and ebay....that its not feasible to return wrong stuff....because of logistics...
they have always dropped that requirement and reshipped...i am sure there is a first time when someone wont...
but, i have 100 percent good ratings ....maybe they trust me somewhat...
i am trustworthy....even if i say so myself...
lol
hope all of you are good today....

Open it up and reflow the solder joints. It'll probably work. There's also a chance the display plugs onto the board. Just removing it and reinstalling it might work. Probably something relatively easy to fix.

that was a really good one....
Sorry to hear that , I have 2 and they both work , look at the top Right of you display it has a crack in it and was damaged in shipping. If its amazon they should send you one for free? if not I would order another one.

Yes! And you have nothing to lose (note- upper Corner ) and you can just order a new board and use the old case.

good morning guys....
a question....please...
i have wanted a set of voight pipes for a long time now....
i think i will build one....just to see how good they are....
and i will have enough amps to drive them....
would it be better to have seperate amps....
am i opening a bucket of worms???
IMO. I would buy a used Denon sound around w **** pre-outputs **** That's what I do and they sound Amazing. I hook it up w a Denon AVR to Preamp (and Tape in/out RG-2) than to Phase Linear amp. I do the same w the Center channel and slit the center into 2 going a pre-amp and I have 2-center speakers (or 4 LOL). I been doing this for decades,,, and would never go back. Imo you will get amazing sound and a Remote to change the volume for all different speakers or channels and a digital Tuner.
I bought some Denon AVR-3808 cheap (top of the line back than) 10 tens ago (because they did not have Hmdi) before that I had a Denon AVD-2000 (still amazing unit and is dac LOL) Denon has a very high rating.
But I don't like the programming that much, The digital world has a a lot of setup menu sometimes its hard to find what your looking For and some of the terminology is different than what we think of Lol

i noticed it was broken when i opened it up...must be something internal in the screen ..related yo the crack .since it was in the margin...i thought i might get lucky!!!
but not...lol

Is that a TC1 multi component tester but without a case?

I ordered a TC1 last year to replace another that I burnt out. I think the landed cost from China to BC was $24 CAD.

i saw a drok on amazon....was a bit more expensive...but, i have always had good luck with drok...
i used a few of their boards for voltage regulators for solar panel projects....
and to make small variable voltage/current power supplies...

not sure if i will buy another or just get the drok...
i guess it just is simply a matter of how much more money do i want to toss around...
lol

sounds nice music man!!!
we dont watch tv around here....we do a lot of documentaries and youtube videos on the things that we are curious about....
not really interested in "surround sound" system per say....
but, 3 or 4 amps scattered around with several sets of nice speakers....is attractive to me...
i really like that theory....
george, how many amps do you have to how many speakers???
are you a big tv guy too??

well,, you do know how much i like spare parts....seems i have some...lol
trying to find one without the gismos...
if the seller does not step up....which his site is all chinese...i doubt he will even read the response...
all part of the game....
and its always a game....
do you have multiple amps and sound surround for your tv/audio ???
were taking a survey....for a friend...
