Nice job Jer. I was kicking around the idea of coming up with a mechanism to hold a couple of cooling fans to the heat sinks of the 400 and 700 beasts.

Looks great Jer :smokin:! No more giant box fan on top!!!! Did you use velcro to mount the fans? How are they held in place?

So, will this fan mod be known as the Northwinds Mod now for super duty applications LMAO. It would be fitting since it is as cooling as a North Wind

Jer, are the covers off the back so the airflow is direct on the power caps? I was wondering if I could cut the cover plate centers out and fab screens on them to allow air to get in but keep fingers out? I imagine the covers keep quite a bit of localized heat in

Another kickass WOPL is born!!!!! Thank you!!!!

The fans just drape over the two inner fins. Wanted to keep it simple and adjustable. I'll ship the covers with it, but yeah I'd keep them off and let the air blow directly on the outputs. No, the fans are NOT finger friendly but you can get guards for them pretty cheap if you need them.

Soon as the folks wake up a little more around here, I'll "test".. :thumbright:

Sounds good Jer (at least what a camera can record). I tend to run the meters a lot higher... 0dbs and higher, lets see them up some and the fans doing their job. That's the real test... the Ron test, where the amp gets as hot as the surface of the Sun LMAO

First vid was around that level, Ron. Kept relatively cool, no probs.

I think I'm going to pack 'er up! :thumbright:

Tracking number 798004057242, Ron. Yeah, use the box when it comes for Blackie... original owner really did a good job in the packing materials (knocks on wood... throws salt over shoulder).

Gotta get motivated and get it hauled out... coming soon to a stereo setup near you!
