Can you get some deoxit inside. It may be taking awhile till it can over come the oxidation. I have fixed a couple cassette deck motors doing that. They were slow at first.
Out of curiosity, I have this CT-F700 sitting next to me that I brought out of mothballs. I notice that sometimes it makes this very audible buzzing/clicking noise and the right channel needle is pegged when it does. I am thinking this deck needs some serious work. I am scared to hook it up to my system and chance popping a driver. Fast forwards/rewinds no problem and I am assuming still holds speed but that buzzing is troubling.
