So it was the Zoebel that was causing the anomaly on the output waveform Lee? If so, that is the second amp I have run across with that problem. Yours was less severe than the last case. Being wirewound, that load bank is an inductive load.
 
yep, sure was Joe. I hate the Zoebels being on the back wall so it was a good opportunity to get em outta there.

Could be, but so far the only victims have been some crossover components.

Weird thig here too...dealing with Zobels...or whatever....the "bad" DC Protect circuit in the 400 I had works fine with the Phase Linear preamp. No need to plug the amp in two times to get sound. It works from the get go with the PL pre...Wo, what is up with that? Was the Cary (AES) tube preamp just not a match to the PL 400? No crossover in it, or at the wrong frequency....or what was at play? Not that I WOULD UNDERSTAND IT TOTALLY...JUST INQUIRING MINDS.....
