Nothing worse than the wait. My fedex never shows till like 5pm

first first first impressions....3 SADE tracks...MUCH more bass than before...Accuphase was flat position...and had to activate the tone control and bring it a notch down....was a bit more comfortable.....you feel more than you hear the bass....on mids and highs....not much of a difference so far.....but dont get me wrong....need to listen quietly....evening...not in the middle of the afternoon....need to be in the mood....more to come....but so far....impressed....but had a rough morning ....bad sleep last night....so give me more time to finetune my listening.....and maybe try a A/B comparison with my other pl that has WO board but no backplanes....the caps are for sure making the bass go deeper...and stronger...it hits you in the face strong...more to come....asap...thanks

...have listened to like 10 songs now....and maybe its me beeing tired or not in the mood....but have a feeling the sound is more fatiguing than on other units....like saturated...was pushing at same volume as last saturday....same songs....and have a feeling of more aggression....more confusing sound....let me switch back to the other unit over the week end and listen with my wife....she has a very good ear...maybe better than mine...more bass for sure....tighter,not sure....
 
Not a bad sounding first impression. Has me on the edge of my seat... I'm ready to hear a FC..

ok/......couldnt resist to do a A/B test now....so same track....same volume ....same tone controls....everything same....the"old"pl has more separation between the 4 ways...bass is maybe tighter....not as strong for sure...but i kind of prefer it....lower mids...higher mids and tweeter is more separated on the old one...as my first feeling was saying...less confused or mixed sound..purer...if thats an english word...lol.. lets not jump to fast conclusion....give me a couple of days...and let my wife try the waxing thing....lol..
 
Oh by the way lee I haven't shut the 400 off for a week now . And truthfully it really really took on a whole new presence.everything has tightend up. Crazy!!!

I wonder how much break in time is needed?

...very possible it needs break in....gonna connect it to my back jbl's for now.....its playing more often during daytime for not so loud music...only switch the front ones when i wanna really listen strong...
 
Break in should have been done by now. It could be this one aint right, bound to happen sooner or later. I won't even mess with it if it comes back. It'll get a new Driver board and go right back..
 
lets see what you analyser says after recalibration.....might be distorsion on some frequencies...no?...am not an expert or pretending to be one...just what my ears tell me..lol...
