Got aeround to working on the Ser I tonight. Desoldered the input shielded pairs and the driver board. Laid out the 2N3403's on the heat sink and centerpunched.

Are you removing the odd capacitors on the transistor wall?

Those old hand drawn traces on the circuit board are at the same time awesome and horrible.

It looks like when you make your wiring runs, you neatly bundle the wires together, Lee. Did the factory do that, too? How many of those transistors are you replacing?

The outputs on the backside Nando are as good as they get, MJ 15024 drivers with MJ 21196's outs. The whole board is being replaced Nando, with Joer's new one. It arrived today, I'm sitting here looking at it and I'm to damn tired to open the box even. Work was a bitch.

Mark I chuckled when I saw the Dart sticker too. Even knew one in High School. If you look mreal closethose odd caps on the right are a total of 8 -2.2uf to get the right voltage and uf in a parallel/series arrangement.

Phase Linear did not do a stellar job in "grouping " wires for runs, but the did a great job in bundling them. they ran 120 ac right alongside low level input with Hi DC right there too without twisting the DC first. I do a lot of rerouting I don't talk about, didn't think it was worth mentioning i guess.

I can see the point of trying not to induce... how do they say... spurious signals from adjacent bundled wires. Even, in routing spark plug wires for a V-8 engine one had to be careful not to have (insulated) secondary wire to wire contact between cylinders in successive firing order.

Hey, I hear you about work, Lee. It hasn't been too pleasant working outside all week for us, as well. Crappy rain! But, since tomorrow is Canada Day, my weekend has already started. I had a glass of red wine with dinner tonight, and Vodka & Tonic later in the evening. Geri pan-cooked fresh prawns, caught locally, and the pork ribs just came out of the oven.

So, that's the upgraded PCB with all the parts to be installed. Do you use a lit magnifying lens to do all you soldering onto the PCB, Lee?

Got the parts laid out, the parts lists and schematics. Got the board mounted in my homemade board holder. here we go.
