Got the chassis back up on the bench. removed the 4 original standoffs, measured, marked, punched and drilled holes for the new standoffs in the middle.

Another cool aspect of this board is the beefed up +,- 20volt regulated supply. there's enough current to tap for the DC protect PCB's. That will save mounting a transformer, BR, cap, etc.

Nice mounts you created there. I forgot the topology of the PL 700 is vastly different than the PL 700B. Maybe that what the "B" is for? I will try and shoot similar pictures of mine and we can send them to Joe for use in the installation manual. Is the wiring across the bottom of the board the same for both the 700 and the 700B as they came from PL?

What kind of camera are you using and what is the resolution when you save the pictures?

The 700B was only 300 WPC and the 700 was 350 WPC. That was also a difference.

Came to him that way, I think... My basically untouched PL700B star wiring looks similar. But that wiring is very neat and clean, is that your handiwork Lee or did it come to your bench that clean? Mine looked like the bottom of an ashtray at a homeless shelter.

This amp came to me in two boxes, a real basket case. Larry, the SER I and the "B" were both rated at 345 into 8 , 425 just before clipping.

the PS caps are a complete new mounting and wiring, the driver board wiring is very close Mark, I wqouldn't say wire for wire but close enough to figure it out.

Mine is a cheap Sony DSC-S85 4.1 MP (max) but I usually convert the pictures to 600x400 for realistic viewing and saving sizes.

I was going to leave my original caps in there for now because they test OK, but I am looking at some Adcom 18,000 uF 100V caps on ebay right now. The guy wants $58 for a pair of them.

The 2N3403's going on the heatsink required an extension on their leads. A little heat transfer grease and they were ready to bolt on. After extending the leads(solder, heatshrink) there needs to be someway to take strain off thewires and leads as the leads are small solid wires which break easily. The white sleeving(teflon hi temp) is epoxied to the chassis and the wires run through them. It's actually pretty effective.

That looks like an excellent process and it will be appropriately pirated and used here for all future PL rebuild/refurbishment.

That's why its posted. Gutted the input and normal/Dc coupling switch. Going with gold plated RCA's and Dayton 5 way binding posts.
