Glen's 700 series II build

Ok Glen, I have literally tore the man cave up, and other than find a bunch of stuff from Nav I had forgotten I had, I have no pushbutton. I have the meter-range switch and endbell.....I have a bunch of pushbuttons for the 3300 Ser II. But I think the one's you need are a lot skinnier....

Well Lee I guess you started that spring clean early. Thanks for looking

The button is 1/2" X 1/2" x 3/16" thick

I am ok for this build as the switch that is broken is on the next unit which needs that end bell and switch. So now the plan is for me is to part out a series ll 4000 preamp I have. It will have some good buttons and knobs and rack handles. It has a very good face plate if you need one.

I'm not a fan of the 4000 series pre-amps. I think 3/16" is about right....got a pic?

the 4000 series ll is very basic inside. I have a carver 4000 and it is not even on the same planet. It has all sorts of unusable function that are realy neat.

I worked on a 4000 preamp. Sounded OK, but what a disaster of physical construction. Lots of gee-gaws that you don't need too. Not my cup of tea, but I like very simple preamps.

image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgMade some progress on the build
i still need to order parts for Don's board today

You bought an unpopulated board?? If you can wait two weeks I'll send all the components to populate your board too. No sense in buying singles of everything you need. I don't think the price break is that great on anything except the relays...

That sounds realy good
I am moving slow so time is ok.
thanks

Yeah Glen, if you are making just a one time buy I can fix you up. When I order something for a WO project I order 200 ct in resistors and 100 count in caps and in the 1,000's for small transistors. In the case of Don's board I order in the 100's if they have the stock. So I have more than I'll need......maybe.....

BTW, glad it's the right button....

Nice work Glen. I have thought about bringing the control wires to the top of the driver board too. I like how that looks!!
