Gibsonian's Cherry Pl 700 Ser I, soon to be a PLWO-1000

Exactly. I think you have to have it one ended so it can "drain"??

Left side done. Gotta go outside for a smoke after that.

WE ARE MISSING SOME OUTPUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!

JEEZ!!! I hate when i do that. The amp was received with one row of outputs not mounted. No testing tonight. Have to re-mica and grease all outputs yet.

Yes Lee, I took out the trannies with some ill advised cranking at 4ohm load with no cooling fans some time ago. I am glad you are resetting all the outputs with new mica and getting rid of the sil pads.

I believe she's going under the knife for the last time. She just needed to see the right specialist. Her prognosis is a really good one, will probably spend many years in the employ of and happily singing for a friendly Iowan. Wonder what the first thing she'll say (sing) when she comes out of the anestesia?

Shpongle---"Tales of the Inexpressible" Track 2, The Crystal Method---"Vegas" Track 4.

Right after the "OK-Where amp I and what are we playin??"

Oh hell....is it listening time? Oh my God...I'll bet it sounds fantastic. I LOVE MY White Oak Phase Linear 700B and my 400 Series I. They are the best power amplifier you will EVER listen to. Unbelieveable state of the art amplification. I have never experienced such awesome power and at the same time subtle, sweet purity...How does Gibsonians amp sound? How much power is she putting out?

Tell us all about it.. I would like to know everything you are experiencing...

I really like the Power Supply revisions on this early PL 700, Lee. Now we know what to do for a replacement of the PL017 board. Any other component changes/relocations besides the bias transistors?
When you power the DC protect board, are you making any other changes to the Main Board?
It looks like the board wiring is the same as the PL14 or PL20 boards, but hard to tell from the pictures.

The d3imlay DC protects are powered by the AC side of the BR off the secondaries, really convenient, and instant off muting. Just got in from work and haven't had a chance to reseat the outputs yet.

Outputs in. Changed out the RCA-410 drivers for the MJ 15024's. Time to test.

Would anybody like to calculate how many watts equal 110 volts in a square wave?? Yep, hand slipped on the sig generator during square wave , unloaded testing, got to 110 volts on the output before I fried the little transistors in the DC protect board.
110 volts = 1,512.12 watts. Which is also 20.43 amps.

Average watts at 20HZ, 200HZ, 2000HZ, and 20,000 HZ UNLOADED was 684.5 (74 volts)

Load test and test listen tomorrow. I think she's gonna be a BEAST, and the K-Horns are just a quiverin, they can't wait!!

I'm sure she was, although she probably didn't set out to be a consumable.

Just got in from work Scott. Gotta eat then we load test, gimme bout an hour, work was cold, and long----16 hours.

No worries Lee. Get some well deserved shuteye. I'm certain I'll be fine and the amp, she'll be patiently waiting for you, whenever. Was thinking about giving her a name, maybe Betsy? What name was on the tag inside?
