OSP = Organic Surface Protectant.

They use it in lieu of HASL = Hot Air Solder Leveling to protect pads from oxidizing until the solder operation is completed.

My pleasure BD. Work with this stuff every day so the three letter acronyms get out of control every once and a while :)

I guess we are not talking about preamps anymore what with the FBI searching the Avatar and BD so upset as to want to pitch himself out a ground floor window to end it all, or get scuffed up. Then there is the continuing pursuit of a 700 with the 555s and 600s. Not much preamp talk there. I'm ok with that. This thread was much better with the diversions.

Does start to resemble a Cheech and Chong LP after a while, no?

I've totally lost the plot....

I take full responsibility.
It's my fault.
I'll beat myself with a big stick to within an inch of my life shortly.....
..... but stay tuned as we always get back on topic eventually.
several times in fact! :confused2:

I'm using my little twin DIY 12AU7 pre-amp now. Lovely little thing.
I can add it to anything and it always sounds just gorgeous. (Even my PL200, Lee)
I tried the Crown IC150 again yesterday Joe, and it just didn't do anything for me. Except for it's Loudness Button. Damn thing really scares the crap out of me when I press it, as it just leaps right out at you. Otherwise, very lifeless.
I think I'll scrap using a pre-amp after all, and go back to using a Yamaha RM1608 Mixer. It's got all the ins and outs that I really need here. Plus they don't sound too bad either.
At least it'll mean that I don't have to go and buy something.

(see, I told ya we'll get back on topic 8991XJ) ;)

When i said the 200 was the worst of the bunch BD, it's not that it sounds bad. It's just that they didn't sound good for any lenght of time.

XJ, the purpose of this forum is to be laid back as possible with as little moderation as possible. Thread crapping is a fine art here. If the OP has a problem with their thread being treated that way all they have to do is mention that, and their wishes will be respected (can't GUARANTEE that, with the likes on Nav and me). I don't believe that a feller that has a sense of humor would mind an off topic smartass comment occasionally.

NOW you tell me!
Well it's too late now, as I've slashed my wrists and now I'm dead!
Wot? Hang on.... The paramedics just told me I'm not dead!
Oh, OK! So I'm not dead, but that was shaving it pretty close.

Anyway, I've modified the 200 now and turned it into an aquarium.....

.... and yeah 'XJ it's just like laatsch' said. (Except he left me out!)
You just gotta have a bit of a sense a humour. Believe me when I say, this place is just the best, and good friends can be made very quickly, and the wealth of information here is just infinite. I hope you feel as at home here as I do now.
(just wotch out for the Nav fella, coz he'll promise you candy and then lead you astray like he did with me.)

:laughing9:

And I WARNED you about that Nav feller....
Danm - late to the party again!

Oh wait - just came back from one that began at noonish and went until 22:30! Mothers day event - lots of food, horseback riding and food - oh I think I forgot to mention the beer. Lots of beer and some wine with the seafood this evening. Too much fun! Oh yeah - there were some Mothers there too.

Did that include some MILF's?? And DUDE!!! Would you check your e-mail??
Yes - MILF's were there. Don't you know the horse community is about a 10 to 1 ratio???????? Did I ever mention that hanging around and riding horses was fun?

Just checked my email - damn those are sweet. Ed is a good and gracious dude. Is that what an original switch looks like?

Most of my horse experiences were ended with a rub against the Russian Olive at the end of the lane on the farm in Wheatland, OR, hauling horses around for my Rodeoin cousins....

Yes Sir, that's what they look like. What else ya need??
Shit - don't know but... the unit works and I should get a chance to do some quick checks - I'll keep you posted.

I have a PWB holder design ready to build - just need some machine time. I'm real close to pulling rank and taking it over for a couple of days. It seems I'll need a 700 faceplate holder - who'd of thought? More bias tranny brackets to come. I noticed that you really need a taller transistor mounting pad - I'm hoping that this one will get built also!

Thanks for all you do for this community Lee!

riding horses, drinking, eating, riding horses, drinking, eating, riding horses, drinking, eating, and did I mention riding horses, drinking, eating?
.... and then all this manufacturing stuff, "I" was feeling really bad for making your head hurt.
now I know..... it's all of your own doing!
I'll be able to sleep better now.
.... take an aspirin and call me in the morning. :toothy10:

Taller transistor mounting pad?/ What i need is a pcb holder when tieing the board to the chassis. I'm running out of edge connectors that "bite".

As to what I do for this community........ It has done wonders for me, so i'm paying back, forwards, sideways, up, down......

If it has the PL0171 board you need some bias trannies to put on the chassis wall. I sent you some of those(2N5088's) if you're out let me know. I think I sent some spare P straps too....
