There's a blemish or two you'll see in person...but it's not too bad..

It's a lot easier to wire the RCA's with nothing in the way....ditto on the new 50 amp BR....small caps in a tight place can be very frustrating....so they get bent and fit on the bench then put on....

Hey Lee, I see you and others putting small caps around the BR. I also noticed that PL put them in the Series II. I'm not sure if I missed something in the instructions. Could you tell me what caps you are using and what benefit they pose to the amp. Thanks

0.01 to 0.022uF 400V or greater mylar film capacitors. The snub the diode snap off in the bridge rectifier and make the turn off softer. This snap off can be heard through the speakers as a 60Hz ticking sound on some amplifier types.

It's in town. Post came when I was at work. Will try to make it over for pick up tomorrow evening. :happy3:

Oh boy... and it's close to a Friday night, too. I know you'll do the amp justice, Ben.

Nando.

Hi all
So any need to get excited to get the polarizing correct with the non polarized caps as discussed in the polarize cap thread running now?

Joe as I am about to order some off these caps is there any gains to go to better than polyester (Mylar) type

Thanks Joe. Will get some of those coming.

Nando.

Indeed it is Nando, but ill be starting a day early this week. 5 years ago today my old man passed. So tonight we will be celebrating this occasion with a few drinks. Its also my birthday. All the more reason to get that beast home and try it out with a few celebratory drinks.

Happy Birthday Ben! Nice to celebrate with a new WOPL cranking! I am interested in hearing your thoughts on it vs the Bose amps. I think you will find what we have been saying along to be true. There is nothing like a WOPL
