    That damn laatch55

My shop system has been active bi-amped since it’s inception. Has the house system bi-amped then tri-amped but was having some noise issues so it’s all apart rn. Have some isolation transformers to get wired up for running balanced/unbalanced gear to try, also tried a DSP and still had some...

Working now, ima. Dummy and wired the secondary center tap to the wrong terminal and it wasn’t attached to anything, wired to chassis ground now and works normally. Putting it back in the case and dunzo. Think buddy coming today to test it out and take it.

Fuck, had it all working with jumpers, now I’ve installed the transformer, switched the heaters over to the new transformer and harnessed it all up, power up and NOTHING. Got filament voltage, 6.3vac, got my 300-0/300vac, and just shy of 500vdc. Not sure what I missed or fucked up. Not a sound...

    THE Crossover Thread

I THINK, the issue is varying phase shift over a frequency range which a blanket delay couldn’t compensate for? As Gibsonian posted, how much worse is it compared to passive? Would narrower bands/more channels help control this? I’m running two way active in the shop with three way passives on...

Would you mind explaining Joe? I think you’re talking about phase between the outputted drivers signals which can be corrected by mS delays which most active crossovers have or by physically moving the relationship of the drivers ahead or behind each other? I’d be interested to know what I’m...

Putting the finishing touches on this amp so he can pick it up this weekend. Just wanted to confirm the the “static shield” lead on the toroidal transformer is simply connected to chassis ground correct?

    what are you listening to?

Not listening to it cuz my system is all tore apart but I’ve been watching the price of this for a while and finally found it cheap. They were asking near $300 at one point, got it around $70 maple Syrups.
