    First, of course, switch the speakers and hear if the problem is in the amp or in the speaker. Second, determine if the problem could be a bad crossover cap. I always suspect caps. Caps are evil. Third, if it really bothers you, shop for a replacement tweeter.

    I made a pair out of some sorbothane scraps for a couple of preamp tubes that don't run hot, but I don't know if they work. It was cheap, at least.

    Having seen graphs of digital sampling points superimposed on the DAC'd analog waveforms, I could see that the bass notes got good definition, with lots of data points to define the wave. Treble notes, on the other hand, had much fewer data sampling points to define the wave that was to come...
