Absolutely, I even placed the amp on a Lazy Susan.

So how are we looking so far Lee, is there hope?:toothy10:

    BIG problems

Please forgive me, my bad. Q1,2,3,4, check out well, all hovering at .699v with a Q1 BE at .702 Those were the accessible ones, I`m not looking forward to the others

    BIG problems

OK, I`ve started testing the transistors. Can I stay in circuit?

Sorry Bud, I edited the post after finding my answer

Q6 2n 3403 To-92HS pinout: is it read from flat side and ignore heatsink BCE ?

Not sure I follow, I don't see the relevance of the PDF

    BIG problems

Yes but it is no longer in circuit, nor any of other drivers or outputs

    BIG problems

Forgot to mention, that's not the case with it`s Right channel counterpart

    BIG problems

If you meant D6,7,8 then no, there no longer is any reverse bias readings out of circuit. Same thing for D1.2.3.4.5 Replaced shorted D9, measures well in FB however, RB is 1.2v (in circuit)

    BIG problems

I need to finish with the diodes first
  13. Michael F

    BIG problems

I`ll pull 1 leg of d1 or 2 and remeasure D4 and 5 In series, forward biased is still .575. In reverse bias is now 1.1v D6,7,8 series forward bias 1.204v and reverse bias .6v

I would be most pleased if this didn't happen first :laughing4:

Driver board Diode testing Got around to some in-circuit testing. These values are both Left and Right channels. First off, D13 checks out well out of circuit and measures 79R (.05v) in-circuit, forward and reversed biased, does that sound right? Left channel D9 is shorted. D1,D2 wired back...

    BIG problems

Would that be back to back diodes across C6? Which kind? Was there not some debate over C6 value as well, while I`m in there...

    BIG problems

OK, checked in and out of circuit, got ya. I`m debating whether or not to replace D 14,15 since they are already "half out" and nasty looking, same with D 13, looks to be of the 1n4148 variety

    BIG problems

Now he tells me in circuit, I`ll check it out later, need to sleep,, nighty night!

    BIG problems

That board is intimidating, a PL 14a BTW. I`m a little apprehensive maneuvering it with all the short and seemingly brittle wires and traces. In circuit testing would be easier for sure. That will have to wait till the morning. You had me check D13 out of circuit which checked out normally but...

    BIG problems

7334 for the most part. How do they compare as outputs? That would be the least expensive route for sure. I imagine things would be weird with XPLs on one channel an MJs on another, no? I will take you up on the 410 offer, very kind of you.
