    What cartridge are you using?

Made some changes since I've last looked at this. Put an AT150mlx on my Technics SL-1800. Smoother than the 440, better dynamics than the m97xe/sas. Maybe the best of both. Still, any of these is good but the at440mla is the best deal. On the Garrard Type AII changer, I'm using a m97xe...

Thank you folks. Time to order some caps and wire. Poke it with a stick. See if it wakes up.

Well I did end up getting a replacement part, newer but old stock Centralab. Wow, all the searching I did led to one guy - Mark Oppat.

Looking for an OLD volume control

Thanks, I've sent the email. Also to old radio parts but not even an equivalent..... Going to say this in linear, and the series resistance thought will of course NOT work because it will still be there at full attenuation or whatever oops.

Looking for an OLD volume control

Thanks guys. I do believe that I can use a modern equivalent, but I'll have to sort out a few things like whether or not it's logarithmic/linear, voltage capability and whether or not I can safely turn a dual section 100k/100k into a 100k/250k with a series resistor. This controls the B+ grid...

Looking for an OLD volume control

Hi folks. I hope all is well with everyone! I've got some posts and emails out looking for this volume control, but I figured there might be a slim chance of someone-knows-someone here that may help. Thank You! Joe This is what I'm looking for: Atwater Kent, model 72, H-2 chassis. Volume...

    Soldering Chips

I should have also asked about removal... That seems to me a potentially greater challange. No? Sockets sound like a good idea as mentioned - for putting in new. What's the downside? FM Tuner chip FYI.

    Ebay: Shipping internationally?

So shipping $25 isn't bad. But I discovered it's closer to $40 -$45 if you want tracking & more insurance. I don't think ebay without tracking is a good idea...

    Substandard Components Claims

Fine engineering takes the parts and refines a design to get optimal results. Parts do not usually quantify a good product. For a marketing or "rat in the head" perspective, parts are very important. I think this way when people say ALL paper cones are trash, for example.

    Ebay: Shipping internationally?

Orange. Would you be interested in a Pioneer integrated 6500II? Needs a little TLC but it works & has nice cosmetics.

    700B WOPL Audition List

Did I mention the fact that my wife judged the 700B from the other room with the doors closed at one point? So she's like "I liked the sound of the other one better" (meaning the 700B) and I'm like "ha ha... How do you know?" "It's the way it was shaking the walls, I liked the bass better" she...
